The Summer of the Fae 22 miles on a mountain road - Up and down and around we go My brakes got hot and I had to slow - In the middle of the day The world grew misty and the air grew green - Doubted my direction ‘neath this canopy Of oak and ash and maple trees - Well, I thought I’d lost my way Hey oh, winding my way, hey oh, in the middle of the day Right about noon, I broke down - On a tricksy road so far from town A rusty shack on uneven ground - And I called Triple A No one home but a dog that barked - And a circle of stones in their front yard I drifted to sleep and I dropped my guard - And my dreams began to stray Hey oh, winding my way, hey oh, into the middle of the Fae A star awoke before my eyes - And another and another until the sky Was wings and teeth and poisoned flies - Conspiring I should stay Old wood carved by rain and snow - Quartz and crystal and dead things’ bones And I slept there betwixt the stones - And the faeries had their way Bridge (reverse pattern) They plucked my eyes right from my head and boiled them in the sun They stuffed my ears with dandelions and ripped away my tongue They said that I was none of this and deaf and blind and dumb I was closer to the brilliant soul that I was to become Hey oh, losing my way, hey oh, it was the summer of the Fae I died right there in the summer sun - And the soul I’d thought hard-earned and won The Faeries, well, they had their fun – till I faded into light There was nothing left to call my own - Then they gave it all back, and how it shone They said, “Remember this,” and my eyes flew open – and the tow truck was in sight 22 miles on a mountain road – Up and down and around we go And I won’t look back, ‘cause I’m going home – But I’ll remember this day Hey oh, winding my way, hey oh, in the summer of the Fae Hey oh, finding my way, hey oh, in the summer of the Fae 22 miles on a mountain road, in the summer of the Fae © LaMonte 6/2011 On the way to Grandmother Elspeth’s 81st Birthday Greensong Festival

The Difference Sacred fire’s high and the hearth burns low Fire lights my soul, no matter where I go We all share a single spark, and I’ve learned to love the flame And that’s made all the difference Holy rain falls and fills my glass She washes me clean, present, future and past The river takes us all, and I’ve learned her ebb and flow And that’s made all the difference Imagination flies and clouds drift on Blessed air moves me with the sweetest song We all feel this vibration, and I have listened to my muse And that’s made all the difference Stones beneath my feet, the paved road ahead Lay my sorrows down, rest my heavy head Gravity has claimed me and I’m learning to be still And that has made all the difference And the sky peeled back Revealed the stars against the black Reminding me that I am not alone Found my star Right next to where you are And that has made all the difference Autumn sky and the sun drops in the west Feeling Goddess kissed and doubly blessed My road’s no different than another, yet I’ve learned to find the joy And that’s made all the difference © G. Come Trance With Me © 5/2010 G. Estevez Found my favorite spot on this sacred ground Turned my headlights off, lit torches all around Such a cloudy night, so few stars remained Lift my head up high to the promise of rain Goddess spilled her tears down upon my head Oh, she laughed like thunder, I crawled into bed Slept just like a child in her sweet, soft glow Stepped into a labyrinth I did not know Come trance with me, She smiled and curled her finger wickedly You’ve spent too much time on solid ground Come trance with me, I’ll take you down – I’ll take you down Somewhere in the dream, I lost my way She let go my hand, and I was not afraid I followed Lady’s light and the Old Man’s bones Till the morning light brought me home A kiss blazed on my mouth – a fire between my thighs A heat within my soul – a star before my eyes The vision tasted clear and then began to fade I poured it into song to keep it bright this day Come trance with me, She smiled and curled her finger wickedly You’ve spent too much time on solid ground Come trance with me, I’ll take you down – I’ll take you down If you ask me now if it was all a dream Time within this circle’s never what it seems Morning comes alive like a fresh refrain I walk between the worlds of magick and mundance Come trance with me, She smiled and curled her finger wickedly You’ve spent too much time on solid ground Come trance with me, I’ll take you down – I’ll take you down

The PSG Song 05:26
The PSG Song © 6/2010 G. Estevez Sun comes up – my tent gets warm The birds are screechin’, “It’s half past dawn!” I roll out of bed and strap my boots on Make a naked dash for the port-a-john Heat up my coffee, then I pour it on ice It’s just one more day in paradise. I sit with a friend that I just met I remember her heart, but her name I forget Well, I honor the sky, and I honor the stone That I found a place where I am not alone I drift in the creek and I dance round the flame Tell me, does this place have a name CHORUS: O-way, o-way, we are transformed by the sun O-way, o-way, and when our work is done O-way, o-way, we spiral and we sing O-way, o-way, Pagan Spirit Gathering The sun is high and I melt down In this puddle of sweat in this Pagan Town Now it’s up to my ankles , then it’s up to my knees And the weather collective is chanting, “BREEZE.” And we all seek shade in the afternoon Fill our hearts and minds with magick and runes We eat when we’re hungry, we nap when we’re tired So we’ll be awake come ritual time In robes and in nothing we spiral around East, South, West, North, Center, Skyward and Ground We walk with the spirits, we grow with the flow What is this place, I have to know CHORUS We tap our drums if we are shy And if we’re brave, we make them cry Our spirits soar, we share our light And drift to sleep on the rhythmic night This is the place where we are not alone And return each year to “Welcome Home!” CHORUS (2x) Pagan Spirit Gathering (4x)

The Firefly Song © 6/2009 G. Estevez Firefly came to visit last night Dressed up all in silvery light She flickered through my flame and decided that she’d stay She spied the drum there at my feet And said, “My love, would you play for me?” Well, she and I and the fire made three, so I said I’d find a way Flicker and flame, flicker and flame … I said I’d find a way (2x) I tapped my drum just to hear her tone But I never did like to play alone But my hand found a doom and fingers rat-a-tat tat, and the song began to play Flicker and flame, flicker and flame … the song began to play (2x) Firefly danced and rode the flame And I watched the stars do much the same The trees stood still, but I swear I heard applause Then firefly asked if she could join in And I said, “Whenever you’d like to begin.” She cleared her throat and stretched her wings with a dramatic pause She flickered on and then she flickered off Then she flickered back on with a little cough Took a sip of my wine and we traded off till the night turned into day Flicker and flame, flicker and flame … Till the night turned into day (2x) The sun drew near and we rubbed our eyes And we each nodded a sleepy goodbye And I hope to see her again some night if I ever come back this way Flicker and flame, flicker and flame … if I ever come back this way (2x)

Hummingbirds 03:44
Hummingbirds Wings so fast that I can’t see ‘em - Beauty makes me hold my breath I am here … don’t know the reason - May be its some kind of test Hummingbirds and things with wings that all need time and space Fragile hearts seek honey and a special kind of grace Love so big that I can’t hold it - My arms can’t reach around the whole of you Origami heart … just let me fold it - Put it in my pocket … take it home a night or two Hummingbirds and fragile hearts are stronger than we seem Always taking chances and slippin’ in that stream Star so bright I almost lost it - Had to look away to see it clear Can we agree to stand in awe and wonder? - Make our way in love and set aside our tears Hummingbird, she knows the sky is, oh, so grand And still it holds her gently like the heart that’s in your hands Can we be hummingbirds Oh, can we be hummingbirds Heart so true, I must believe it - Beauty makes me breathe a silent sigh Sky so vast and I don’t fear it - So, do you remember how to fly? Hummingbird, she knows the sky is, oh, so grand And still it holds her gently like the hearts within our hands Can we be hummingbirds Oh, can we be hummingbirds I want to be a hummingbird September 2012 © Gina LaMonte

Persephone 04:54
Persephone © 11/2011 G. Estevez-LaMonte Some say she was stolen Some say she gave her consent But when the King beneath the mountain sees a star against the black You really haven’t any choice and there’s no turning back Persephone Some say she led him on a chase through field and wood Some say he ran her to ground But when your beauty is your weapon and you burn like the sun You draw the winter to you … there’s just one way this tale can run Persephone, run Persephone, choose Who you will be Are you the beauty in the grave? Or the dying rose above? Will you take his darkling heart into your own to love? Persephone Some say she bleeds ice and white roses Some say she flows crimson red One season in the year to taste the flowers bloom Then all the world would think that she’s returning to her doom But she and her captor/lover/King … they know that it’s not true Persephone … Some say her father did bargain Some say her mother did grieve She may have lost the light … oh, how she gained a crown To rule each dying breath, to lay each body down To deliver every soul to the wheel that still goes ‘round Persephone …

The Trouble I’m In I have been blooded and I have been bled - Danced with Valkyrie and drunk with the dead I have held every star like a shard, bright reward ‘neath my skin I have slept at the crossroads and parted the veils - I have angered the gods and been run out of Hel I have kissed the bright Goddess and I swear to you that was no sin And nothing compared to right now – to the trouble I’m in I have been sainted and I have been stained - I have been ecstasy and I have brought pain I have wrestled the giants – done whatever it takes for the win I have burned in the fire, I have drowned in the deep - I have painted the clouds and tied stones to my feet I have made this fool’s journey over and over again And nothing compares to right now – to the trouble I’m in The gods of the harvest are walkin’ my way Sickles and scythes in hand They want to know what I’ve done with my time And this time they’re takin’ me in Now I am broken and now I am bound - My feet are skyward, my blood soaks the ground My soul, it is sacred, and everything else is just skin There is no bounty, there is no reward - I’ll find my way home, or I’ll find the sword These gods they are silent and naked except for their grins I’m beginning to understand the trouble I’m in Bleed – ‘til there is nothing left of me Breathe – the letters written in the leaves Read – the words now drifting on the wind A gift of life for the gift to know myself ... that’s the trouble I’m in The gods of the harvest they stand in my way Bolines and blades all around The trouble I’m tied to – roots deep in the world And now they are cuttin’ me down I am the shadow and I am the shade I’ve been fast asleep and now I’m awake And all of creation has opened its eyes to begin Beginning to understand the trouble we’re in

The Song of Atonement © 8/2010 G. Estevez I am heavy regret I am the sorrow you will not forget Deep in your marrow I’m the blood on the ground I’m that heavy burden that you just can’t put down The world sings your pain Oh, but she would sing your glory She will sing whatever you own So let go year fear, let fly your soul And atone I can slice with a whisper But you give me voice Hasn’t anyone told you child that this is your choice You can hide within shadow Or dance on the flame Take as long as you like now to decide you’re to blame The world sings your tears Oh, but she would sing your laughter She will sing whatever you own Let go your fear, let fly your soul And atone Whatever you choose All the world follows Will you be supple or stone Let go your fear Let fly your soul And atone

The Goddess of Letting Go © 10/2011 G. LaMonte Brushing the knots from her beautiful hair The knots that the fairies tied A world between us, though we both breathe the air One of us drifts in the night So, go on and ask me your questions child The answers you already know Tonight she will walk with the Goddess The Goddess of Letting Go Taking her hand in the moment The moment is now and it’s here The past and the future beyond our control In this ending there’s nothing to fear So, go on and ask for directions The path is one that you know Tonight we all walk with the Goddess The Goddess of Letting Go As light as the soul she was born to Nothing to bind her here The demons she battled now gather as friends Their wisdom is perfectly clear So, go on and make your way homeward What you need, you already know Tonight we all walk with the Goddess The Goddess of Letting Go Just one more drop in the ocean Just one more soul for the sea We grasp and we grow and we hold on And with one breath we set it all free So, go on and ask me your questions, child The answers you already know Tonight we all walk with the Goddess The Goddess of Letting Go
