Poison Garden

from She Walks the Stars by Mama Gina

about

As I was mixing this song, Bai, retired Shinto monk, intra-galactic espionage artist, experimental bio-doc running an "underground railroad" for escaped corporate sex slaves, and master poison gardener, literally stepped right in my face and said, "That which does not kill you ... but should ... is of great interest to me." As often as I walked through her garden and relived her conversations with Ava, this was the first time she spoke to me directly.

lyrics

Poison Garden
(c) 2019 G. LaMonte

Do not breathe too deep
Careful where you place your feet
Root and stem, leaf and seed
Flowering vine, tricksy weed

Welcome to my poison garden
May you find your ease
Step into my poison garden
Sleep

Morning's glory, night's shade, oh
Elderberry, mistletoe
Rain to cleanse, then bring your flame
Choose your path, child; it's yours to name

Welcome to my poison garden
May you find your ease
Step into my poison garden
Sleep

Sleep the night ... Sleep fore'er
Belladonna's blooming there
Daffodil and buttercup
Peace is sure if there's enough
And there's enough

Opium's poppy, hemlock, yew
Wormwood, foxglove, mandrake root
Trumpets wild angels blow
Berries on lantana grow

Welcome to my poison garden
May you find your ease
Step into my poison garden
Sleep
