Once there was a St. Christopher, Travelers' Patron Saint, and every Catholic had his statue on their dashboard. When the Church decided his story was sus and that he was no longer a Saint ... well, Catholics don't like when you change the story. In protest, we renamed him Mr. Christopher, and he still took care of us as we traveled.
lyrics
Hey Mr. Christopher
(c) 2022 LaMonte
Hey Mr. Christopher, I know you ain’t no saint
I still believe in you, though the Pope says that you ain’t
I keep you on my dash, oh, your feet are magnetized
Mr. Christopher, please be my ride or die
My Mama propped you on the dashboard each time my Daddy’d drive
I swear you were the only thing that kept us kids alive
I’m holdin’ that tradition every time I start this truck
Mr. Christopher, don’t let me get (rhymes with truck)
I’ve got miles and miles and miles and miles to go
Keep my wheels down, brakes fine on this open road
Hey Mr. Christopher, talk to my GPS
She has been re-routin’ me the last ten miles, I guess
Help me dial down my road rage and increase my happitude
You’re the best … Traveler’s Patron Dude
Don’t let them blue lights see me unless I need them to
Keep my windshield wipers clearin’ up my view
Potholes, mud, and slick roads, may my engine never lack
Mr. Christopher, please always have my back
I’ve got miles and miles and miles and miles to go
Keep my wheels down, brakes fine on this open road
You carried Baby Jesus, kept His feet from getting’ wet
That child could walk on water, how soon we all forget
Well, Jesus Christ don’t need you, but I surely do
Mr. Christopher, I believe in you
Mr. Christopher, keep my travel true
Mr. Christopher, my Traveler’s Patron Dude
